We made a big picture of Elmer the Elephant to put on our classroom door for World Book Day.
We also had a go at making Elmer out of the construction kits that we have in the classroom. We think our models are really good.
We dressed up as characters from our favourite books for World Book Day. Can you see who we are?
Today we went up on the common. It was a beautiful frosty morning. We tried to see if we could all stand on Mrs Stroud’s shadow, we all got together to make a shadow taller than Mrs Bestford’s and then with a friend we made shadow monsters. We looked at the view and tried to spot the wind turbine far away in the distance. Someone said it was in another country it looked so far away! Then we had great fun rolling and sliding down a bank before coming back to school.
In Forest School today we started by whittling sticks. We then put a marshmallow on the stick and held it over the fire to cook it. We had to count to 10 and blow on the marshmallow before we ate it. The marshmallows went all runny inside. They were delicious!
Here we are whittling…
Now we are cooking the marshmallows…
And here we are eating them…MMMMMMM!
We were really excited to go back on the Forest School site today. It has been very slippery after the bad weather so we have been going for walks instead. It was good to be able to climb, build dens, hammer in stakes and do some swinging today. We had lots of fun even though it was cold and frosty. We put fleeces on and Jasper said he was wearing 6 layers!
