This week we have been having a go at some of the activities we will be doing at the Mini Olympics in July. We tried object pick up, aiming at a target and throwing the javelin. Watch out for more activities coming soon!
Today we have been learning how to program the Bee-bots. We have been working with a partner to move the Bee-bot from one person to the other. The Bee-bot is very clever and never forgets anything it is told unless you remember to clear it’s memory. If you forget it does everything!!
We have been busy making cards for a special occasion this Sunday! Can you guess who they are for?
We had a great day at Redwood, the Ernest Cook Trust. We started the day by having our snack to see if the weather would improve as it was pouring with rain when we arrived!
Then we went outside to do some pond dipping. It was raining quite hard by now so the grown ups were not able to take many photographs… but we had lots of fun and found quite a few creatures including blood worms and beetle larvae.
After pond dipping we went back to the meadow and had a picnic…
When we had finished our lunch we spent time looking for mini beasts, building bug hotels, climbing trees and jumping in muddy puddles!
We had a fantastic time – ‘the best day ever’ according to Iffan!
We have had a Sports Week in school this week. We had an obstacle course, learnt how to aim and had a go with the javelins. Today we have worn our Sports clothes to school for the day.
We had our photographs taken making a Sporting pose…can you guess what we are doing?
Today we have been doing some whittling! Have you any ideas yet?
We had a fantastic day on Friday experiencing some new activities at the Leisure Centre in Stroud. In the morning we did Gymnastics and Trampolining before having a go at Zumba! We had our lunch in the Band Stand at Stratford Park, then we went to feed the ducks and some very greedy pigeons…
There was still some time left so we had a walk around the lake and finished up playing in the park. Mrs Bestford, Mrs Stroud and Mrs Wilkins took hundreds of photographs. Here are just a selection for you to see. Look out for lots more in our Year Books when they come home in July.
