Today we did some whittling so that we could make sticks nice and clean before we cooked marshmallows over the fire.
When we had finished whittling we cooked marshmallows over the fire. They were hot and we had to blow on them and count to ten. They tasted yummy!
We have been using the iPads this week to help us with learning how to add up. Here some of us are working out the answers to the questions.
And a group of us having been using the iPads to help us learn to recognize the numbers.
Yay! We got certificates this week for reaching our target in Maths. Now we are on to Europe so our new targets are to count reliably from 1 – 20 and be able to say one more or less from a given number between 1 and 20.
We all wore red to school today for Comic Relief. Lots of us had red noses. Even the teachers wore red today!
We decorated biscuits with red noses. Here we are busy making faces on the biscuits. We had to roll out the icing and use warm jam to stick it to the biscuit. Then we used the jam to stick on sweets to make a face. We used a cherry as a red nose. They look yummy!
We went outside to have a look for signs of Spring. We used the iPad to take photographs of the things that we saw. We also heard the birds singing and saw a nest high up in a tree.
We made a big picture of Elmer the Elephant to put on our classroom door for World Book Day.
We also had a go at making Elmer out of the construction kits that we have in the classroom. We think our models are really good.
On Shrove Tuesday we made pancakes. We need to use flour, eggs and milk to make the batter. Then we cooked them in the frying pan and ate them. Some of us had them with jam on. They were delicious!
