Today we had toast at Forest School. Mrs Stroud made a fire and cooked the toast. Some of us were looking for treasure. We were lucky enough to find conkers today. We did some climbing and played in the dens.
There were lots of different things going on in the classroom today. We were all busy enjoying ourselves. Some of us were doing writing activities whilst others were building, playing in the big house or making a farm.
Today we have been tasting the fruits that Handa collected in her basket. We all had a go at chopping up one of the fruits before we tasted them. We tried pineapple, banana, tangerine, papaya, mango, avocado and passion fruit. Our favourites were mango and pineapple. We didn’t like the papaya.
We have been painting our modroc now that it has gone hard. We painted it brown to look like wood. Soon we are going to decorate them with lot of different materials.
Julie came to school today. She told us how the African ladies make Fufu bowls. We all had a go at making a bowl just like the ladies did in Ghana. Then we made our own pinch pots. It was great fun working with the clay. Our pots are going to go in a big oven called a kiln. In Ghana they cooked their bowls in a fire.
