We visited the Ernest Cook Trust site at Redwood. In the morning we went for a walk in the woods with Umbareen looking for clues. We were thinking about who or what might have surprized the tiger in the painting by Henri Rousseau that we have been looking at. We found footprints and trails that might have been left by an enormous tail! We also had to negotiate the ‘swamp of doom’ that likes to pull off wellies…
Then we had a picnic lunch back in the meadow where we also had time to play on the tree trunks and in the long grass.
After lunch we went back into the forest. We made a big picture of the creature we thought was scaring the tiger…
We created pictures of our own…
and we toasted marshmallows, yummy!
We had a really great day and hope to tell you more about it when we have our class assembly soon!
