In Forest School today we started by whittling sticks. We then put a marshmallow on the stick and held it over the fire to cook it. We had to count to 10 and blow on the marshmallow before we ate it. The marshmallows went all runny inside. They were delicious!
Here we are whittling…
Now we are cooking the marshmallows…
And here we are eating them…MMMMMMM!
We have started to make some Easter nests using rice krispies and chocolate. They look really yummy! We are going to put them in our Easter Baskets that we made last week.
Some of us making the nests…
We all took part in a colouring competition run by a local supermarket. Carrie came to give the winners their prizes but she also brought chocolate bunnies for all of us. Yum! She was very impressed with all our colourings.
These are the winners in order left to right of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.
Here we are with Carrie giving out the prizes.
We have been busy making Easter Cards this week. We cut out chicks and decorated eggs to put them in. We also did all the writing to go in the cards by ourselves!
Today we dressed up in our sports clothes and took part in a Sport Relief Mile which took us around the school field and playgrounds five times. We all managed to complete the mile. It was very cold so lots of us ran the whole way!
There are some more photographs to follow but Mrs Bestford needs to edit them first!
Here they are…now you can see us in action. Some of us were very determined!
We looked at this cut out picture that Matisse made of a snail.
Then we made our own cut outs of mini beasts. We made snails, spiders, caterpillars and butterflies. Our pictures are now on the wall in the classroom. They are really colourful.
Over night our snails have been getting up to mischief. They usually prefer to eat rotting leaves but will eat nice fresh ones if they can’t find any others…and last night they found Peregrine’s plants….uh oh!!!
