Today we had a fantastic gymnastics session. We were travelling along the apparatus, jumping off and rolling. We watched a video of a little boy doing a forward roll and standing up straight away and we tried really hard to copy what he had done in our session. Mrs Bestford was impressed with how much effort we put into the activity. She was also pleased with how much progress we have made since our first session when some of us were a little bit scared of the apparatus…she was also delighted with our team work and problem solving when we put the apparatus away at the end! Amazing work Owls! Well Done!
This week we have been learning about the Life Cycle of the Butterfly. We listened to Eric Carle read his story about ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We made zigzag books about the life cycle and we are making crazy caterpillars from stripy socks.
We have been working on our Maths Targets when we come in to school in the morning. Here we are busy sequencing the numbers to 20, making a number line and counting in 2’s!
Mrs Bestford was really pleased today when so many of us moved to the next set of targets in mathematics! We were happy too…
This first week back at school we have been talking about snow and ice. We watched ‘The Snowman’ and then we made some pictures of snowmen using paint and chalk. Here we are busy making our pictures.
Happy New Year from all of the Owls to every visitor to our Blog. We hope that you will enjoy finding out about the things we get up to in the next year!
